Happy New Year, Your Urban Fantasy. A new year means new books! I’m certainly looking forward to quite a few of them. But I’m wondering about you guys. I decided to take a select number of popular titles and let you all vote for the most anticipated book of 2013.
I will probably read most, if not all of these myself, but which one is #1? Oh and what is today’s lesson? “Burned”, “Ever After”, and “Tempt” are popular title terms in the world of urban fantasy/paranormal fiction. “Grave” too, but those additional book are omitted.
that is a hard choice. i love Kim Harrison and Charlaine Harris. i pick ever after. but also am sad that this is the last sookie book.
I didn’t want it to be easy :P.
Very much looking forward to Ever After, but I’m also looking forward to Frost Burned – I have quickly been pulled in Patricia Briggs world.
I like Mercy, but a 2-year wait tends to cool me off sometimes. Though I don’t think I’ll have that problem with the Dorina Basarab novels.
It’s a tie between Burned and Ever After.
Tough tough! Did you select one on the poll? which one if so?
According to your polls, it seems EverAfter is leading, but I sorta figured that. Got to have some more Hollows. Like many, there’s so many I can’t wait to get here. Jeanine Frost has two books that I am desperate for. I need more Bones,Cat, and all the others that have found a special place in my life and I feel as if I know them so well from Jeanine’s books. I also look forward to Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews. Of course, like us all, there are so very, very many more books we all wait patiently and not so patient for. Thank goodness 2013 is finally here.
I figured that too since I assume the majority of my followers are Hollows fans, but it’s interesting to see how the other half disburses out.
Ha, just look at the stats for Ever After 😀
Oh I’m lookin’!
This was a hard choice especially between Ever After and Burned, but it would have been a no brainer if J.R. Wards Lover At Last was on the list, that is my absolute most anticipated read this year.
I thought I was forgetting one or two pretty big ones. I’ve only read through Book 2 of the BDB series though. I may read book 3 at some point this year.
Okay, it’s now a part of the list and I added a vote for you :-).
My pick would definitely be Burned from the list, but I also agree with Noreen-Lover At Last (BDB) is the one I’m most anticipating.
I have since added that option plus 2 votes to cover you guys :-).
I’m dying to read Burned, but the best book in 2013 will be Ever After!
I loved Sookie, but the series was so boring lately that I dont finish the last book…
I’m planning to read that series after the last book comes out. General spoilers will indicate if I’m willing to read that one at all or not.
So far it’s looking pretty obvious. 😉
Yeah, but for a Hollows heavy blog, I was curious as to how many people it doesn’t have that #1 hold over :P. It’s actually quite a bit!
It’s horrible. I had to pick but really I’d stick half of those as “I can’t stand to wait” books.
Forgive my mean streak 😛 What’d you choose? And what are the rest?
I ended up picking the newest Cassie Palmer only because I really want to know what happened to Pritkin the most. Dead Ever After and Ever After should technically be at my top as favorite series but I guess that isn’t always the driving force behind the first grab. The only books on the list that I don’t actually follow eagerly are the last two and that’s only because I haven’t read them yet.
Well it’ll be fun to see how your rate them all! I’m much more of a Dory fan and that side of things, so I wish Karen Chance didn’t have to alternate between these two series by the YEAR. Ugh! It’s painful. At least The Hollows has never done that (and looks like it never will since Kim has finished the last final Book 13 so it should publish on schedule), but my other faves do at times. *sigh*
Ah man that was hard. It’s most likely that I’ll read all of them, but I could only pick the 1 🙁
So I picked The Chimes At Midnight. I’m very addicted to the October Daye series 🙂
Thanks for the vote!
i picked charlaine harris’s dead ever after as i have been reading her the longest. but i’m waiting on kim harrison’s ever after too. i’m really glad to see patricia briggs’ frost burned on here as she is a favorite of mine too. and nobody i know seems to read her much.
Thanks for the vote! I’ve not read the Sookie books yet, but I’m planning to read them all together closer to the release date.
