The Hollows is my flagship Urban Fantasy series.  Before I became a fan in 2005, I would generally only read vampire stories when it came to this genre.  Kim Harrison’s wonderful world really helped me branch out and discover other amazing works, which is partially why I created this blog in the first place.  Considering the large number of Hollows followers on this site and the high frequency of posts I’ve made (and will make) about the series, I decided to put everything in one place to position myself as the massive if not obsessive aficionado that I am as well as create a spot where fellow fans can see everything I’ve posted relating to the series.  I just want everyone to know that there is a Hollows community here. While the Hollows isn’t all I do, it is a big part of what I do.  If you have something you might want for me to blog about related to the Hollows, please comment below and we can chat about it ^_^.  In the meantime:

    1. Good question. Have you read the Hollows Insider? The recipe is in there. I really want to try to waffles at some point but I don’t make then frequently enough. However with it being a long weekend I may find some motivation. We do have mayo in the fridge though I’m more of a miracle whip girl generally. I won’t deviate for this though. I’ll have to take a snapshot of my Hollows Insider book so that it doesn’t get stained with ingredients.

If I make a batch I’ll blog about it and certainly will be thanking you, Kat!

      1. I did read the Insider, which I thought was great over all. I thought the spells & demon descriptions would have served better if they were interspersed in the story rather than seperated into their own chapters. I wanted to know about them, and enjoyed the descriptions, I just didn’twant them all at once. Just my opinion.
The recipe is what prompted the question. I don’t own a waffle maker or I’d have tried them right away. If I can find a friend to borrow one from I will let you know how awesome they are. Can’t get better than getting a little piece of Trent into reality right?

        1. Yeah I agree the Insider was fantastic. I have a waffle maker (great Christmas gift) but I only make waffles on the rare occasion. I didn’t get around to it today but I plan to make them this weekend after I get the proper ingredients.

Hey, could you possible make them as pancakes instead?

  1. I started reading Rachel Morgan because I loved how the the first load of titles were really nice takes on epic cowboy movies. It spoke of some originality to me!!! And I’ve never looked back since. I used to cite Anita Blake as my favourite but the sex has become too gratuitous and I don’t enjoy them as much anymore, as well as very sloppy writing. Whereas it’s the opposite with the Kim Harrison books, the writing’s sharp, the characters are good and irregardless of the circumstances they’re believable!!!!

    1. I started reading Rachel Morgan first and then got into Anita Blake. I really enjoyed Blake, but the gratuitous sex ruined it for me too. I just gave up and honestly I don’t even miss it. The AB I loved has been long gone since Book 6. That’s still my favorite.

      1. Ladies glad it wasn’t just me! I gave up on her after book 7 and I found Rachel. I really wonder what caused the dramatic shift in the AB series. It was quite good at the beginning.

        1. Yeah after Book 7 it just wasn’t the same Anita Blake anymore. I read all of the books through the library and then ended up buying Blood Noir, which was the last Anita Blake book that I bothered to read. Makes a big difference when I have to actually fork over the dough to read it.

  2. Love love love The Hollows! Can’t wait to get my itchy fingers on the Undead Pool! I need to get my Rachel & Trent fix!

  3. Hallows is my Fav UF series and i read A Lot of UF 🙂 Kim has created such an original world that has stayed fresh for so many years.i discovered the Hallows when D W W was a new release. She’s made us laugh, scream, cry and cheer as Rachel and Co have grown.

  4. I used to read mystery/suspense. Then I gave Dead Witch Walking a try, and now I’m hooked on the genre. These are my favorite books of all time and I don’t want them to end!

  5. my signed first edition of TWWNN arrived last week. it’s still waiting for me. i want to read it but don’t want to finish the Hallows …sniff
BTW Kim was awesome at the Undead Pool signing in Pittsburgh. Very personable, funny and genuine ! Wish i could have attended a signing for the final installment too 🙁

    1. You can take your time, munchkin because when it’s over it’s over! Kim is always awesome at her signings. I’m glad you had a good experience. I was glad she could make it back to Baltimore/DC for the last one, but we didn’t get to see her for TUP. She didn’t come here for Ever After either so I had to travel a bit, but she’s worth it!
