Your Urban Fantasy – Connecting Authors and Readers!

I was pretty thrilled to receive a message the other day from one of our regulars, SLCurwin.  I won’t blab too much but I’ll paste it here:

Hi Erika,

This is ShaunaLee (SLCurwin) and I thought you would get a kick out of this.

When you had Nola Sarina as a guest author doing an online blog tour (I think that’s what it was), I really enjoyed reading Gilded Destiny and about a month later I noticed she was going to be at a readers/ writers festival in Calgary (Canada) that I was planning on attending. I managed to meet up with her and I thought I would send you the evidence. This is what you are doing. Connecting writers and readers internationally! Isn’t that exciting? I never would have come across her if it wasn’t for your blog, so thank you.

Also, I have to brag a bit and since none of my friends have a clue as to what I’m talking about…
I got to sit through dinner with Patricia Briggs and her husband!!!!! I was over the moon. She was the main reason I went to When Words Collide and they are an amazing couple. So fun and interesting and friendly. I just had to share my joy with someone who was more likely to understand.

Nola said to say hi to you as well.

ShaunaLee 😉

Oh, I think ALL of us would understand!  Hi, Nola!!  And dinner with Patty Briggs?!?! Color me green with envy!

fullmetal alchemist, envy

In all seriousness, this is all just too cool and one of the best aspects of blogging.  I’m glad you had a wonderful time, Shauna! Thanks for sharing!

  1. What an incredible email Erika, I love the pictures! Just looking at Briggs made my heart skip a beat, she’s truly incredible.

🙂 Thank you for sharing and for bringing us closer to our favorite stories and their engineers.

  2. I’m still on a Awesome Weekend high! Erika, you are fantastic. Thank you again for further enabling my habit of ditching the real world for the fictional ones. I love your reviews and I know that I can rely on your taste as if it were my own… at least so far 😉 I’m sure we’ll disagree on something eventually.

I hope that someone else is lucky enough to be connected with new authors and local authors like I have been. It’s terribly exciting.

Am I turning into an author groupie? Is there such a thing? lol

    1. Awww, thanks! I definitely try and being me and honest is all I can be! I’m just glad there are people that can relate for the most part! Author groupies have fun, don’t sweat it ;).
