I would like to take the time to welcome author, Alicia Wright Brewster (AWB). I just recently read and reviewed her novella, Don’t Call Me Angel, and quite enjoyed it. Here is her interview of the central character, Six.

AWB:  Hi, Six. It’s great to finally meet you—seeing as how I created you and all. Let’s talk about your first book. What was your favorite part of it?

My favorite part was, of course, finally getting out of Hell. I’ve been working on that for almost two centuries!

AWB: What was your least favorite part of the book?

Six: Earth is different. In Hell, there’s so much evil happening that you kind of ignore it. You just accept it because there’s no way to change anything. It took me a while to realize that I can be whatever I want to be up here. It’s scary and confusing, but I think I’m getting the hang of it.

AWB: What do you like about Earth so far?

Six:  The weather. And the fresh air! It’s around 80 degrees during the day here in Atlanta this time of year. Some people would say that’s hot. But as far as I’m concerned, if I don’t feel like my skin’s about to melt off, it’s just fine.

Oh, and bacon! I really like bacon.

AWB:  Is there anything you don’t like about Earth?

Six:  Humans.

AWB:  You don’t like humans?

Six:  I wouldn’t go that far. I don’t understand humans . . . and some of them smell bad.

AWB:  Do I smell bad?

Six:  No, but I still don’t like you. You have shifty eyes. You seem nervous about something.

AWB:  I’m a little afraid of you.

Six:  That’s good. You’re not stupid.

AWB:  Thanks . . . I think. Anything else I can get you to talk about?

Six:  I like my roommate Cara a lot.

AWB:  What do you like about her?

Six:  I can tell she’s tormented about stuff that happened to her in the past, but she’s sweet and kind. She trusts people. Sometimes I wish I could be like that.

AWB:  So what are you going to do with yourself now that you’re out of Hell and a free woman?

Six:  You’ll just have to wait and see.
