Kim Harrison – A Perfect Blood Tour Signing Report (Video and Pics)

I couldn’t even sleep in late today. I woke up at 7am and the first thing I thought of was posting about the signing for your guys.  So I guess I’ll start from the top.

Rambling about the commute: I left out around 5pm since the event started at 7pm.  It was raining a bit yesterday so traffic was even more horrendous than usual for the DC Metro area (we’re ranked #1  in the whole country for the worst traffic if you didn’t know).  Normally a 25 minute trip from my usual route was going to take an estimated 2 hours, so I opted for a slightly longer route in hopes to still get there on time.  I-95 traffic was slow but moving until it suddenly turned into a parking lot.  I saw emergency vehicles passing on the shoulder so I figured there was an accident.  I eventually saw everything fairly close ahead and cars were down to one lane to get through.  Since I know fans travel far to her signings (I traveled 3 hours for Black Magic Sanction in 2010 and then flew to San Diego Comic Con last year), I was really concerned that some people wouldn’t make it.

I got even MORE concerned as I finally creeped near the front and the fire truck completely stops traffic starting with ME. While I was hoping those involved in the crash were okay, all I could think about was “it would be just my luck that I would just barely miss getting around all of this.” I tried to take a picture of the truck in front of me with my camera, but thankfully he only wanted to turn around so he wasn’t blocking traffic for very long at all and the accident wasn’t as bad as it could have been. *whew* for all involved.  So I made my way and had no more traffic issues.

The signing: So I arrived at about 6:15pm and got my ticket, #107, a far cry from being FIRST in line for BMS, but it was alright.  I was right that fans travel far.  One set of fans was from Utah! Initially I thought there was going to be a Q&A but when I arrived they said that it was scrapped, however she did do an interview earlier.  I was a little bummed about that because I was going to try to ask as many questions as I could on behalf of you guys. I can understand why it was scrapped though because even though I was #107 there were still a lot of people behind me. The store closed at 9:30pm and I didn’t even get to see her until 9:20! On the plus side, it is very obvious that Kim gets lots of east coast love so hopefully she comes here again because we’ll be here!

I finally got up to her and she started signing the book without really looking up first, but then she did and I told her who I was and she gave me a hug which was too cool for words! I guess it’s hard to forget when someone is blue!  I look different every time I meet Kim so I collected all of our photos together and showed her.

I then went on to ask her a couple of questions. I wanted to ask more but I didn’t want to hog too much time.  However, never fear!  One of our members, Autumn Leaves, is going to her Atlanta signing today and has printed off the questions, so she may be able to report back with some extra news.  A big THANK YOU to Autumn Leaves for doing this!

But as for what I could ask Kim, since two posters were curious about Quen and Ceri’s opinion on Trent/Rachel I asked that one. Basically it seems like Quen and Ceri are on the Trent/Rachel bandwagon.  Also I asked about Rachel’s “romantic” HEA and if we would see it before the very end of the last book.   Kim is adamant that it will be at the end of the last book, so yes, we all have to keep holding our breath until that last page.

Not everyone had read the book yet, but a lot did and were very giddy with discussion.  Everyone is really looking forward to Million Dollar Baby later this year.

It was fantastic to meet Kim yet again! Each experience is different and they’ve all been great.  I also really loved seeing other fans of the Hollows, making new friends, and even meeting Trish, one the members here! I hope you guys enjoyed coming down!  It was so awesome to meet you and so glad you were able to find me!

So yes, another book hath come and gone and we await the next! I hope that I can meet even more of you guys at these events in the future.  It’s worth it!  Below are the pics of my books and my kindle. Yes, she will sign your e-reader ~_^…but nobody is signing my tablet, rofl!
